Not the best of Defoe but a good read nonetheless.
The dated language slows the plot down for me the reader. The plot is a little confusing in places. but the depiction of character, of the two old ladies and the scoured dress, and the elbow chair, evoke a great atmosphere and setting. The periphery characters are well portrayed too.
